Tableware for every diseases
The ORNAMIN cutlery set is the perfect complement to the ORNAMIN functional tableware. The special cutlery is intuitive to use. Since there are no fixed handle positions, the user is free to choose how to hold the cutlery. Of course, it is suitable for both left-handed and right-handed people as a one-handed aid and is a practical help in everyday life especially for people with illnesses such as a tremor, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, multiple sclerosis or stroke.
The cutlery set includes: Knife (model 981), Fork (model 982), Spoon (model 983). Each item is also available individually in the ORNAMIN Shop and both with and without handle cushion.
Functionality and design
The cutlery is designed to be visually appealing, non-stigmatising and usable by the widest possible user group. In addition, it has various features that enable safe access and thus independent eating even with limited hand and finger mobility: The S-shaped silhouette of the fork and spoon, in combination with the ergonomically shaped, push-on handle cushions, provide support when holding and guiding the cutlery. The feel of the soft non-slip material ensures a secure grip - even with shaky hands. The circular surface of the spoon makes it possible to eat from all sides without the need for special bent cutlery.
Special functions are also integrated into the design of the knife: If, for example, one chooses the handle position so that the blade lies between the middle and index finger, this enables safe and independent cutting even with reduced hand grip or motor impairments of the hands or fingers. The rounded grip surface fits perfectly in the palm of the hand and the grip cushion ensures a good grip, as with the fork and spoon, so that there is a pleasantly secure feeling when holding the knife. The weight of the knife, fork and spoon helps to compensate for the symptoms of rest tremor, among other things.
In the spirit of Universal Design, the features hidden in the cutlery set promote the user's self-esteem, as the supporting functions are not obviously visible from the outside. The high-quality cutlery has already won two internationally renowned design awards.
