RELEVO REUSABLE SYSTEM

The student union Niederbayern/Oberpfalz has introduced the Relevo reusable system in all canteens and cafeterias in Regensburg, Passau, Landshut and Deggendorf and stopped issuing disposable packaging.

"The to-go operation in the canteen, promoted by the corona pandemic, forced us in spring 2020 to still hand out disposable packaging, which according to the manufacturer's specifications should be fully compostable. Unfortunately, it turned out that it was not possible to compost this packaging due to legal requirements. Therefore, we looked for a way to use reusable packaging in the canteen. With Relevo's reusable-to-go system, we were able to save over 31,000 disposable packages in the first two months after its introduction alone. This brings us a big step closer to the goal of a sustainable campus.“

REUSABLE SOLUTION INSTEAD OF DISPOSABLE PACKAGING

Since 1 December 2020, the Student Union Niederbayern/Obernpfalz has banned disposable packaging for serving meals and replaced it with Relevo's sustainable and environmentally friendly deposit-free reusable-to-go system. All canteens and cafeterias serving food in Regensburg, Passau, Landshut and Deggendorf are participating. With this, the Student union is declaring war on the accumulation of disposable waste from 1,000 to 1,500 packages per day and is completely stopped serving disposable packaging. To participate in the reusable-to-go system, all you need to do is register in the Relevo app. The Relevo reusable containers, bowls and small cups with lids are made by Ornamin.
