The Osnabrück Student Union was looking for a sustainable solution for transporting its to-go offerings and decided on ORNAMIN's reusable, returnable bowls. The individual "MEHRbeWEGen" design gives the bowls a great recognition value and makes them an eye-catcher. Following its successful introduction in the refectories, the deposit system was also extended to the cafeterias. In the period from November 2020 to December 2021 alone, over 250,000 to-go meals were sold, almost 75% of which were in the ORNAMIN returnable trays. This means that almost 200,000 disposable trays and just as many disposable lids were saved during this period. A great contribution to protecting the environment! Resource management in university catering plays an important role here, especially with regard to the selection and procurement of food. Due to the to-go trend of taking food from the refectory or cafeteria and not eating it on site, resource management has also included the provision of suitable transport containers for a few years now. In order to avoid waste from disposable packaging as much as possible, the Studentenwerk has been offering reusable dishes in a deposit system in its refectories and cafeterias since 2020."
